Dutch A1+ Course – Hilversum
For learners who are ready to speak more Dutch – and have fun doing it.
This course is for learners who have already completed a beginner’s course and are familiar with the basics of Dutch grammar and vocabulary. In a small, friendly group, you’ll take your next steps in speaking Dutch with more ease and confidence.
During 12 sessions of 2 hours and 15 minutes each, you’ll practice real conversations you’ll actually need in daily life. You’ll learn how to:
– ask about public transport,
– chat with neighbours,
– make small talk with colleagues in the hallway or canteen,
– describe your weekend,
– explain symptoms at the doctor’s,
– and even deal with the plumber when your heating breaks down.
We’ll focus on speaking and understanding spoken Dutch. You’ll practice with dialogues, role plays, fun games, short animations, and even original Dutch songs written by teacher Mylène. There will also be mini “real life” challenges, like asking for information at the train station, buying something at the drugstore, or approaching the reception desk at the library.
And yes, we’ll go on one or two field trips to the centre of Hilversum – so you can try your Dutch in shops, cafés or wherever we end up!
How does it work:
· 12 lessons of 2 hours and 15 minutes from 2 September – 18 November 2025
· Lessons on Tuesdays from 19:00 – 21:15
· Optional free intake (by phone or online)
· Small group: 4 to 10 students
· Location: Library Hilversum, ‘s Gravelandseweg 55 Hivlersum
